FAQ

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Who is moderating this project?Hi, I'm the solo mod for this project, Gladhand! This is my first time heading a fandom project like this, though I have experience with fandom projects as a contributor (Submas Sticker Collabs by Sunny/Sunjuicy, Destination: Apollo Zine, Fairy Stories Zine, THRIVE: A LCB Recruitment Zine) and have experience with making fan merch over the last two years!

-
Will the calendar be available for international shipping?
Yes, with exceptions! Any countries not accepting packages from the US or within the EU due to GPSR regulations will not be available, all others can be shipped to directly without need of a shipping proxy! Please see links here for explanation of shipping regulations for more info!

-
How will profits from the project be used? Will contributors be compensated?
All project profits will be used to cover production costs, required taxes, and give contributors free copies of the calendars and any additional items included in the project! Depending on the project success, if any funds remain afterwards, they will be used toward covering partial or full shipping of contributor copies.

-
Will keychains/charms or pins (assuming enamel but I’ll include buttons too) be considered for the project stretch goals?
Maybe! This is dependent on the current state of tariffs being ??? in America for imports! For anyone who might not be familiar with merch making, most acrylic items and pretty much all enamel pins are produced outside of the US. This would basically mean paying over double or more the cost of production to import said merch depending on the manufacturer I’m working with! Unless the tariffs are dropped by the time the creation period begins, those items will not be included in the project. Button pins are possible for the project if enough interest is gathered, as this is something that can be made in the States and/or will not cost an arm and leg to import if it needs to be ordered from an overseas manufacturer!

CONTRIBUTOR FAQ

How many contributors are you looking to recruit?Currently less than 20 participants are expected for the project! 1 cover page artist, 12 page artists, and potentially more based on stretch goal item interests from the interest check + a few pinch hitters in reserve! This is also my first time organizing a fan project like this and I’d like to keep the team manageable as just one little guy running the whole thing. If the project goes well, I hope to make more projects like this in the future, potentially with a mod team to help with something on a larger scale like a full zine!

-
Aside from the Subway Masters, are other characters/pokemon allowed?
Yes! Any characters within Pokemon canon are allowed, so long as the main focus of your piece is about the Subway Masters and themed with your assigned month!

-
Are AUs allowed?
Approval will be on a pitch by pitch basis! This is mainly to focus on the main themes of months/seasons, but non-canon content is allowed (i.e. Ingo returns from Hisui, Subway Masters in another region, etc).

-

What are the content guidelines for the project?
This is an all ages/SFW project! As such graphic and/or excessive violence and explicit content will not be allowed in this project. Themes of mild violence/blood are allowed. Romantic shipping is not allowed for this project, however canon and headcanon platonic relationships are allowed.

-
For page artists, will there be a prompt list for each month or will it be at artists discretion?
Leaning more to artist discretion with approval of their pitch! The artist’s final pitch should match up with general themes/events of their chosen month. (ex: April themes could include flowers, springtime, Easter-like imagery, rain, etc).

-
For submitting art for applications, do works have to be Submas related or simply a showcase of skills?
It’s not required to submit art featuring the Subway Masters, but it’s appreciated seeing how an applicant stylizes them! In terms of what I’ll be focusing on for showcases, it mainly come down to having a variety of styles in the project, not wholly based on technical skills.
